| No body made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little. ~ Edmund Burke, 19th Century statesman and philosopher Notes from the Field By Nereah Obura, P4P Kenya Program Coordinator Dear P4P Friend, For several years, P4P has purchased holding tanks for schools and clinics in the Kopanga/Giribe area. Each tank collects 10,000 liters of fresh rainwater. Each institution must raise funds to buy the gutters for rooftops and the concrete tank base. They must provide the labor to install the gutters and tanks. P4P provides the tank and transportation to bring it to these remote sites. Each tank costs about $1,000US, and brings safe water to the school or clinic. |
| | During 2021 we’ve purchased six tanks. For the first time, we opened the application to a non-school entity. The Ogada Care Centre is the local orphanage, taking in children without parents or those whose parents cannot care for them. This is what the Care Centre posted on Facebook after their tank was installed: “You heard the call for help and answered it magnificently. Thank you very much P4P for the provision of 10,000 liter tank to our home. You have forever secured a spot in our hearts. We cannot describe how indebted we feel. Asante Sana” |
| | YOU made this gift possible with your support to P4P and WE thank YOU! |

| | YOUR Help Has Made a Huge Impact in Kopanga By Dia Maurer, P4P Executive Director The bad news: the pandemic continues to plague developing countries. Vaccines are rare and difficult to obtain in Kenya. The good news: you are bringing hope to 26 villages while they navigate the ongoing pandemic. Partnering for Progress was never intended to be a disaster relief agency. We work alongside partners who recognize community challenges and work to provide projects that address these challenges. Our partners identified education, poverty reduction, safe water and health as areas they regard as critical. This virus has made food insecurity a top priority. Can you imagine zero safety nets during the pandemic? Our partners have no food banks, no unemployment and no health care insurance. P4P has distributed over 1,100 emergency food baskets. P4P has provided hand washing stations, safe water, masks and soap. Rest assured we are addressing the long-term food shortage with innovative agriculture programs, a poultry raising project, tower gardens and education about indigenous foods. |
| | We are so very thankful for your support of Partnering for Progress. Because of your generosity these milestones have been recorded during our fourteen-year history: - 193 Infants have graduated from the Power of Milk, our infant nutrition program.
- 53 students have received high school scholarships, 31 students have graduated from high school, and 8 students have received college scholarships.
- 675 girls have received Days for Girls reusable personal hygiene kits, helping them stay in school.
- 91 farmers have received seed, fertilizer and mentoring to increase yields.
- 4,500+ people have access to safe drinking water provided by rainwater catchment tanks, borehole and spring protection projects.
While we are proud of how far we have come, there is still so much more that can be done. As 2021 comes to an end, please consider making a financial contribution that will literally feed the hungry and promote long term solutions. By donating to Partnering for Progress, you are making a world of difference, a world away. Asante Sana! |

| | What is Giving Tuesday? The holiday season is right around the corner, a time for family, friends, being thankful for all we have, and, of course, gift giving. November 30 is Giving Tuesday, a national day when the entire country gets together to show support for nonprofits doing essential work. Your tax-deductible gift to Partnering for Progress on #GivingTuesday will go far to support our essential work in the 26 Kenyan villages where we work on health, education, water/sanitation and economic development. Your donation will help P4P provide nutritional supplements for malnourished infants, supply a teenage girl with a reusable sanitary supply kit that will help her stay in school, buy a bag of fertilizer so a farmer can increase crop yields and feed his family, go toward funding a women’s cooperative business venture, even pay an entire year’s tuition for a deserving high school student. From all of us at P4P and everyone in Kenya whose lives you will touch, we say Asante Sana (thank you). |
